    API Availability for DNP 2.01

    Hi

Is an API for DNP 2.01 still available (upon purchase) as we are looking to integrate DNP with some of our existing applications

    Thanks

Technically, you get the API even with the free 10 web sites version.

Great, so where can one get hold of the API from?

DNP Enterprise Server is one big API Wink

You may download DNP Portal sources to see how to work with ES API.

As Feodor implied, there is no additional component to get or install for the API. It is there as soon as you install Enterprise Server. There is no official documentation at the moment but you can see how to use it from the freely available Portal source code and just using Object Browser in Visual Studio 2005.

    I hope this helps.

an API, what is an API?. Well if we we're to truly talk about all the API's involved here I guess we'd have to know more about the level you want to interact or program within ... Indifferent

Re: API Availability for DNP 2.01

I was just about to ask about the same thing but I found this thread... I guess the functionality I'm looking for is to do the following:

    1. Add additional menu items to the main navigation control i.e. to add 'Webmail' to the parent node 'Mail' from the navigation menu control.
    2. Then somehow (Iguess desktopmodules like DNN) create and register a custom module to do what you like, in my case it would be to create a simple <IFRAME> tag to embed a webmail sub domain into the module to display much like anything else displayed in DNP.
    3. Another situation might be to alter the 'View Stats' link to do the same (open a custom module with an inline frame for the stats sub domain).

This just touches the surface, having a way of registering desktop modules or what ever DNP uses will have a great benefit to me personally as I can control other billing services, domain purchases etc all through one common interface; DNP.

I hope this gives more insight into why I began my quest for the DNP API or should I say 'ES Almighty One' Stick out tongue

    Cheers, Matt Morrison
