    ISAPI filter (as Apache mod_rewrite)

How about DNP Rewrite ISAPI filter? Smile

Many hosters need this solushion - using .htaccess rewrite rules on Windows...

Main idea: clients can migrate from Linux without troubles with .htaccess rewrite rules.

There are solushions as IIS Rewrite etc, but we can't use old Apache mod_rewrite rules with this filters...

Re: ISAPI filter (as Apache mod_rewrite)

I have had PHP user ask about mod_rewrite availability. This is great.

Would you please consider adding it as an option under website, so users can install this filter if they need to?

    Thanks.

Check permissions (IIS must read files in IIRF directory). Besides , you should allow this ISAPI ext in IIS ext. list. After this add IIRF in website properties.

If I'm not mistaken I've seen installation howto in IIRF readme file.

Re: ISAPI filter (as Apache mod_rewrite)

I configured everything once again and it works .. thanks.

But now I see that ini settings are global and if some users want to write own rewrite rules then I must manually create folder with DLL and INI for them.

Maybe is there any possibility to add to DNP option to create automatically folder with IIRF dll and ini file per every site that is created?

Yes, that's why we are still waiting before supporting IISRF. The main concern is global settings.

However, we can implement management of central INI file, but still it seems unreliable.

Are there any free alternatives for IIRF?

Re: ISAPI filter (as Apache mod_rewrite)

I've searched a little and IISRF looks like best free equivalent for mod_rewrite. Maybe solution will be creating for every user in his home directory directory with IISRF dll and ini file ?

Well, it's quite tricky to have a dedicated DLL for each web site. Customer can freely delete it or harm permissions.

Maybe we can talk with DLL author and ask him about supporting separate INIs? Wink

Re: ISAPI filter (as Apache mod_rewrite)

someone posted support request for separate INIs in their Issue tracker:

    http://www.codeplex.com/IIRF/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=8669

so .. for now I think we should just watch this topic

    Edit:

I see that on this codeplex is voting system for issues and all other issues have 1 vote and separate INI files have 5 votes so I think we are on a good way to having this problem solved
