I don't think there is any relation but here is the only thing in the log. Looks like I have a permission's issue with parsing a weblog file. Other then that there is nothing... I mean absolutely nothing.

Yes, this error is related to the parsing of locked web logs.

OK... So how about some insight in to the original question/issue? Since I do not have any thing related in the Event logs what should I do now to help you help me understand why the nettica DNS integration is not working.?

Has anyone completed a setup with Nettica successfully.  I waited until this was a feature because I didn't want to mess with manage my own DNS servers.  Fedora what is the status of this?

    Thanks!

Are there any problems with DNP-Nettica setup? DNP supports their API very good and I've never heard they changed it.

Btw, my correct name is Feodor. Fedora is the name of grandma from children's fairy tale Big Smile

    Hey Feodor,
Sorry about that.  I edited my last post with your correct spelling after I realized that.  Do you have instructions on how to set this up in DNP?  I purchased a DNP and a bunch of your modules and want to get started on this but when I was looking at this post it looked like this wasn't working correctly.  I just don't want to hassle with running my own DNS servers and hope that this will be a solid and realiable solution.

    Thanks so much.

No prob, I'm just kidding - it really doesn't bother me. Smile

Well, you should just have an account at nettica, then add a new DNS service in DNP selecting Nettica provider and specify your username/password there.

    Does it work?

Devin... Did you get it to work. I have stil been unsucessful. I dont think it is an issue at my end but I can not get it to work. Please let me know what your outcome is so that maybe we can either work togeather to get some documents or maybe you will tell me that you got it to work and just need to get my head out of the sand.

    Hey John,

No, I haven't had time to try it yet.  I am busy with some other work.  I will definetly let you know.  Hope it works because I really don't want to hassle with managing DNS servers.  Been there done that and it can be a pain.  I am sure Feodor or someone can help us out if not.

We have also tried this integration with no luck.

Has anyone been able to make Nettica work?

Ok, we managed to get this working. I think that, if you make any changes on the settings page for this service, you need to make sure you re-enter your password.

However, We followed the Nettica Rebranding setup as per their documentation. Edited the default Template with our info. If a domain is added through the Nettica web Interface, the default template gets applied as expected. If a domain is added through DotNetPanel, it uses the settings for the Nettica service and not the default domain.

We sent an email to Nettica Support who informed us that after a domain is added through DotNetPanel, they will also have to call the "ApplyTemplate" opperation to complete the setup.

Can the DotNetPanel people please look into this?

If possible, it would be great to use their Groups and Templates which could be applied to our resellers, private Bradnds, etc...

    Re: Support for Nettica.Com DNS

Well I finally got it to work as well. Thanks for the help. Definitely making sure that you update the password when you make a change was the key. It was even important when adding DNS records. Go figure.

It would be nice if there was a way to let Nettica use one of the templates that they have setup. The templates in DNP are so clunky. The DNS Editor in DNP could use some TLC.

I am however very happy to finally be able to have all the setup in one place. And now my users can edit there DNS.
