    DotNetPannel APi

    Hi Guys,

Using the EasyAPi, is it possible to create a subdomain and point it at an existing website?

     Thanks

    Duncan

    Hi Duncan,

At the moment EasyAPI can add/modify/delete Customers and Hosting Spaces. It can also enumerate Hosting Plans. The ability to create sub domains is not currently available.

    Thanks,

    Felix

    Thanks Felix,

I'm creating a web portal which will allow users to create there own website.
You mentioned in can create hosting spaces, does this mean I can use it to create a new site and give them access to the URL?

    Thank

    Duncan

The Hosting Space would be empty - with no websites or databases defined.

At this point EasyAPI is ideally suited to automate the creation of customers and hosting spaces after a purchase. At that point the customer will need to log in to DNP to manage their account. I plan on adding the full functionality of DNP. But this depends on user interest.

If you're coding in .Net then why not just call DotNetPanel directly rather than going through a 3rd party layer?

    Hi,

I would love to but I am not a programmer, would this be straight forward for a non-programmer?  Doesn't anyone have any examples or something to get me started?

    Thanks

With the greatest of respect, if you're not a programmer, then I'd strongly advise against writing any code that manipulates the DNP API as you could easily leave yourself open to abuse should your code be insecure.
