 Greetings,

 As a newbie to dotnetpanel, attempting to convert from Plesk 8, I am having two major issues:

1) After creating a new site, the site disappears for no apparent reason after a few moments (I assumed this was an AD issue, but can't see any reason why)

 
2)  After having installed php5, there are numerous references to php-cgi.exe which does not appear to be bundled in the windows version.  Where is this file and it's ini acquired?

 Thank, you.  However, I'm well aware as to where to acquire php - what I'm saying is that the php-cgi.exe is not bundled in this download.

yes it is, that where I get mine from and its there

 This is bizarre.  I downloaded the installer again today and it was not in there.  I will try the non-installer download and have a look.

 Interesting.

 The php installer package does not contain php-cgi but the zip 'package' does.  While this situation is resolved, the original issue (1) remains.

Sites continue to disappear for no apparent reason.  We create the website in DNP and it's there for a few minutes and without any input whatsoever, on a simple refresh, a 404 error occurs though the site is still in the hosting directory on C.

Suggestions?
 

Is Plesk still running on the system? I've heard it has a habbit to "fix" permisions on a schedule basis.

 Thanks for the idea, Feodor...  Alas, no.  This is a fresh install of Win2003 SP2. What really strikes me as bizarre is that once the domain is created and the website added, it is viewable in a browser for at least a minute before it turns into a 404.  The site remains in IIS, however.

 I'm sorry to disappoint though I'd love to share this with you.  The server is internal only at this point. 

We are still experiencing problems we find difficult to track, however, I believe I've found a part of the puzzle.  When a site is initially created, IIS shows the site as having ASP 2.0 (in Application Pool (Properties -> Home tab in IIS) and it works fine.  After a period of time, though, the site seems to revert to ASP v1.1 and fails to run .aspx files and continue to fail even when manually changed to ASP v.2.

 We've also tried Prohibiting ASP v.1.1 hoping that ASP 2.0 would kick in but to no avail.
 

Hopefully this guides others in their struggles as we continue to troubleshoot...

Then make sure you have correct paths to 1.1 and 2.0 ASP.NET ISAPI dlls on web service properties.

EDIT:  BUT:

1) When I right-click to examine the ASP.NET tab for a website, the drop-down shows neither version of ASP is selected.  Once selected, aspx runs fine (why is this happening?)

2) when I right-click on the whole 'websites' folder in IIS, it shows ASP.NET version1.1.4322 as opposed to 2.x...???? 

2) not necessary. Typically it is defaulted to ASP.NET 1.1

1) Are you really sure you have right paths? If so, check a) that both asp.net 1.1 and 2.0 are enabled in hosting plan and b) default asp.net version on web site policies are set.

 I'm completely apologetic for my incompetence.  No, neither version of ASP had been enabled on those hosting plans. 

The bizarre part, I suppose, is that the default .aspx pages loaded (even when ASP was not part of the hosting plan) until either 1) a file was FTP'd or 2) a certain period of time had elapsed.
