    New To Sharepoint

I have never used WSS before but am interested since everyone is talking about it.

I currently have 2 servers (one for web and sql server, the other for mail) and i want to put WSS on the same server as email to simply ballance the load.  I know this is possible since it is just in the server config area, but my question is:

When a user sets up a WSS site on a primary domain, does the system automatically change the DNS to reflect this change?  or better yet, can I get a rundown of how DNP handles WSS, as the demo site doesnt do it that well, and there isn't much documentation.

In DNP it looks like the following:

    1. You create a new web site.

    2. When creating a SharePoint site you select existing web site.

    3. SharePoint will be installed on this web site.

Feel free to ask other questions.

To clarify a little further, DNP does not have a configuration option to set the server/path to where the WSS http files will be installed for your client. So what you will need to do is create a virtual server with the same config as you currently have except put the web service on the mail server.

Create a new plan called, for instance "sharepoint" and set the target server as the newly created virtual server.

I'm still here, I'm just quiet. Shhh.
