It looks like connection was interrupted during the web response. Weird error I have to admin that I've never seen before. Do you have any proxies installed or whatever that could intercept the traffic?

No proxies. Intercept the traffic like a firewall? or what could possibly be causing this and what could I do to solve this?

This occurs enough for my clients to be very annoyed. A simple F5 sovles it but annoying. Help

Well, what I can suggest to you is to try disabling this application and see if your customers will be getting these errors again.

    Re: Odd Errors Occuring...

I turned off the firewall and the error still occurs. Anything else that could be causing this problem? Can you suggest some testing tools or what other things should I go down the list to figure this out? all my other websites that use asp, php, even PERL run without a flaw. its only DNP itself. it occurs randomly. I hope you guys can help me fix this problem so my customers do not have to keep hitting F5.

As you may see this error occurs due to web response corruption. It looks like there some "noises" on the communication line. Smile

OK, are you getting exactly the same error (GetStorefrontCategoryResult) every time or it is changing?

    Re: Odd Errors Occuring...

for your information its a business DSL line that backbones through verizon. This connection connects to a modem which connects to a switch then to a router and then to the server itself.

I am getting errors in the same spots mainly. One example is logging in the other is after I log in and surf around if I click to go back home to the main logged in area, the error appears again. Simply pressing F5 fixes it but seems I and my customers get this error. I even get it and I am right next to the server connecting from another computer but different static ip address through the switch. Clients are getting it connecting to it from the internet.

I am trying to nail down the cause so I can figure out a solution.

    Re: Odd Errors Occuring...

steps I have taken to eliminate this error

#1 Change the rule on software firewall (black ice server) allowing all incoming traffice from nervous.

Result: Speedier responses from DNP. However problem remain and errors occured when navigating DNP

#2 Stopped the Black Ice Server Service all together! Rebooted the server.

         Result same as above

#3 Checked error logs for Applications in Event Viewer. When I noticed errors being generated when this problem occurs. ASP 2.0

#4 I tried thanks to some good advice from members here to try to tweak the settings of that application pool by recyling the worker process sooner than by default 1740 to every 4 hours.

Result errors occured even more quickly than before. DNP became completely unstable.

#5 I also tried uncheck marking the box for Idle Timeout (shutdown worker processes after being idle for 20 mins.

Result was again DNP became unstable

#6 After steps 1-5 I restored the firewall settings and change the tweaked settings in the application pools back to default. I then tried to create a new application pool for DNP and made sure the websites used this new pool.

Result DNP was generating the same errors as before. Please note this error does not generate in the same place every time its very random where it occurs and when. Sometimes I can log in and BOOM it shows before my eyes, other times I can navigate DNP and it shows up after a minute. Users can navigate even with the error shows up they just hit F5 and navigating DNP continues. This is more along the lines of being a intolerable annoyance.

I have run out of options to try. Feodor if you think this error is isolated to my case only. I would have no problem in opening up a ticket and pay the 20 bucks. It would be worth it for me to expedite this fix. As this is the only thing holding me back from marketing my hosting company more.

What URL (external or internal) are you using to connect Portal to ES (in SiteSettings.config)?
