HELP!!! - Re-Register DNS after server crash

Hey all, hope someone can help.

I just had a server crash that took me down pretty bad.  I was able to recover the website files and Email addresses.  The only problem I am having is re-registering the DNS records that are retained in the DNP Meta Base.

Does anyone know how i can BULK re-register those DNS records onto the server?

and while we are at it, i also have all of the website files and the Meta Base has all of the website "data"... is there any way that DNP can rebuild those websites in IIS as well?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

I can't be of any assistance but sorry to hear about that.  Did you get any reply of DNP or anyone else to get you back up and running?

Sorry to hear that happen. How many websites were involved?

Best bet may be to manually go via DNP and recreate the domains / websites.

    Actually what I did was:

    1) delete and recreate ONE domain in DNP
    2) RDP into the server and duplicate the dns file for that domain under "c:\windows\system23\dns" making sure to change the appropriate data for each duplication to match up to each new domain that i was creating.
    3) I then went into the DNS MMC and re-registered each domain using the file that i created for that domain.

After doing this, dnp was simply able to read those dns records as before.
