It's pretty obvious DNP does not come here anymore and when they do it is rare and far between.  It does not appear there is much to hope for with DNP and new features.  A dead forum means a dying product.

I agree. However, since I've been having a mail conversation with the DNP Team regarding the ecommerce module, I can tell you that they told me this: Right now they're working hard on DNP v3, hence only the releases of small updates and bugfixes to the current v2. In v3 they're going to exclude the ecommerce module, and make that part a seperate module instead. This way the customers can use that one, WHMCS or whatever. The DNP ecommerce module will be sold seperately, but I was promised that existing customers would get it for free.

The time frame is of course not more specific than "this year", I was told about "half a year" and that would mean during the summer. However, we all know that delays are common so I'd say "Q3" at is best...

Unfortunately DNP Team seem to refuse publicly informing us, their customers, of what's going on and even not show us a preliminary road map or anything. Maybe the information above was just a lie, who knows? Speaking for my self i can tell that I would need to buy a couple of more server licenses but I won't until I see proof that the product is alive and being further developed.

We apologize for being silent a little bit. We were working on performance improvements and thus postponed development of new features – just to ensure the existing modules and functionality serve on its best.

Beginning from the upcoming version, which is going to be 2.8.14, we are continuing to implement new features and modules. This affects Ecommerce module as well in a good way, of course.

As always we are open for suggestions! :)

A bit silent would have been acceptable. You people have insulted our loyalty to your products and services. This is a bloody disgrace. I have heard all your promises for over 2 years now. That would be the beginning of this thread. I now use whmcs for my billing and see no reason why I would go back to you guys for this feature.

At the begining you listened and acted promptly. Now you are obviously too big and arrogant. Just like the other service providers. Unbelievable!!!!!

This is my honest feedback regarding your customer service!!!!!!!

I second Paul's feelings and add the following. I can't believe that DNP doesn't even have one person from time to time responding to support posts in this forum. I have personally found DNPs forum to be worthless for resolving support issues or even getting a simple response that the issue I'm having works for others. I have a number of posts open with no responses. Parallels and cPanel even have staff dedicated to their forum. I am so frustrated that I'm paying for monthly licenses with absolutely no support unless I pay $50 for a two second answer. Maybe a client only forum?

This is probably falling on deaf ears.

Personally, I say don't bother with the DNP ecommerce; most of us are probably using third party solutions. I’d like to see better documentation for the API with asp, asp.net sample code. If one of our resellers wants a solution the basics are in DNPe. DNP should focus on being a great control panel not a control panel with an ok billing system.

I would like to see DNP focus attention on fixing bugs and adding important features. I have posted a number of what I think are bug candidates (08x64: Access DB not creating in file manager; SmarterMail 6 signatures not working... changing permissions in file manager don’t work either) no one answers my posts so I have no idea if it’s an issue on my end or a real bug.

With regards to adding important features I’d like to see:

    1. Ability to set mail domain space limits per plan for SmarterMail (not just mailboxes)

    2. Ability to set IIS7 application pool limits per plan (Private Memory Limit and Virtual Memory Limit)

    3. Ability to only allow one application pool per plan II7 (i.e. all domains, sub domains, etc. are under a single application pool for a plan). This would give real control to the hosting company to manage and allocate server resources (i.e. Plan 1 = 200 MB Private Memory Limit for Application Pool).

    4. A scheduled task feature like the one found in Helm 3 would really make life a lot easier for users who want to run scripts (e.g. cron jobs).

    5. SSL certificates manager like the one found in Helm 3 add-ons.

I disagree. I'm using WHMCS myself as well but is very annoyed over having serveral systems from different manufacturers to work together even if they would work very good. I want to have it simple for my customers, one and only integrated all-in-one system, that being DNP.

Actually, as a developer myself I can't see the problem for DNP Team to either finish the eCommerce module and get it working as most customers would like to, or even with a total rewrite of a billing system it shouldn't take that long time. It's a disgrace, in my opinion.

Personally I'm convinced that DNP Team is more interested in developing modules like Hyper-V, Exchange and so on that they can earn much more money on, than taking care of us; the existing basic product customers. During the 1,5 year I've been a customer myself - what have i got with the product since then? A couple of bug fixes, a couple of provider version upgrades, a couple of headaches, and a non-working web application gallery. Oh - and of course a couple of cosmetic refreshes as well. The development is way to slow progressing for a promising and so far pretty good product.

But one of the worst things DNP Team can do to us is to be quiet, not telling us any road maps at all, not answering anyone in the support forums, and not publishing some real and working new features in the basic product. Sure the extra modules charged seperately is indeed nifty but way to expensive in my opinion, and interesting for the market in general but not for many of us "basic web hosting" customers to DNP.

+1 to the above. Especially #5, #3 also sounds very nice :).

I would like to add that it would be nice to be able to assign a dedicated IP to an existing website without having to remove it and add it back.
