Urgent DNP MIgration to New Server

I did a Windows update last week and somehow updated a driver and apparently it has messed up my Broadcom NIC beyond repair and it is causing issues sending mail since it will not hold my DNS or IP info and SmarterMail requires a match between the DNS info in the NIC and in SM. PowerDNN has seen this a couple of times and worked with Dell and never been able to find a solution. They have a patch but I would rather just spend the time upgrading t a new server.

So this is prompting me to go ahead and move up to a larger server, which I had planned to do anyway. So I am trying to find someone with experience in moving DNP installs from one server to another including complete server setup and FTP, DNS, SmarterTools, etc.

If anyone is out there that has done this before? If so, what were your experiences? I am hearing that there are no good tools to migrate DNP from one server to another.

I typically work with Rubal on these types of things, but because of the urgency I am just putting out feelers to see if anyone has had good experiences doing this. So Rubal, if and when you read this, don't get offended, I am just trying to get as much advice as possible.

I am sticking with Windows Server 2003 so I don't create any new headaches.

Thanks. This is very urgent as most of my clients are complaining every day now, even though I have explained the situation and my intended plans to move to a new better, faster server. But I still feel bad everytime a client sends me a copy of an undelivered email.

Don't know if this migration has already been completed, but you might consider Backup for Workgroups. It can take a full backup of your current system and restore to new hardware.

My suggestion would be to use something like Acronis Universal Restore and virtualize your server into a MS VPS. I have done this before and it is very effective. If you can maintain the same IP's it shouldn't be a big drama migrating to new hardware. Let me know by PM if you require assitance.

I wouldn't put all your trust in Acronis Universal Restore. I have tried this and ran into issues when trying to restore on a new server with a new Raid setup. Acronis could not recognize the new raid setup and would restore thinking it's the same server setup as the backup. It restored everything and then the server ran into a infinit loop of reboots. It would not boot up :*(
