    DNP and WHMCS

Well I've just about given up hope on Helm (Parallels latest "update" stopped me being able to add new accounts. They've confirmed the problem, but 2 weeks later still no word) ... so I've decided to give DNP and go.

I've set it up and it seems to be running OK, however I use WHMCS for accounting/creating accounts etc. My problem is that when I create accounts through WHMCS, the user account and web space all gets created - and about 30 seconds later DNP deletes it all!

I've cleared out everything except OS and Web to try and narrow it down, but no luck so far.

I'm wondering if perhaps the WHMCS module is outdated? I notice that through WHMCS, the DNP audit log has -

    Add HOSTING_SPACE

    Add User

    Add Domain

    Add Website

    Delete User

When I add an account via DNP the audit log only has -

    Add User

    Add Hosting Package

    Suggestions?

    Hello,

Sorry but we don't responsible for any third party products (development, support, documentation and other things). For additional information please visit WHMCS website http://www.whmcs.com/  and find information about "Dotnetpanel" provisioning module.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Re: DNP and WHMCS

I'm not asking you to be responsible for the third party product. I've sent the same message to the WHMCS developers, they've said they're using the API Add User Wizard functionality.

I was hoping you might be able to advise if the API had changed or some other issue so I could let them know to expedite a fix. It is after all DNP that is deleting the account after it is created, not WHMCS.

After having Helm developers break their product and be so long in fixing it I'm not at all encouraged now to discover you guys aren't at all interested in helping a potentional new customer either [:'(]

Anyone got any suggestions at all on a control panel that works and whose developers actually give a damn about their customers? Confused

That occurs if there was a problem with DNP creating one of the services ( eg domain already exists for email etc), there is nothing wrong with the WHMCS module and the latest release of DNP.

    Re: DNP and WHMCS

Thanks, any hints where I can find what the "Add User Wizard" (WHMCS told me that's what they use) in the API does and requires? (note - I am not a .net programmer)

I slimmed down my services to OS, Web, DNS and was still getting the problem of account deletion.

Removing DNS results in the account not getting created at all. That would imply to me DNS is a requirement for the API call. I'm also wondering if perhaps DNP requires two DNS servers when setup through this? I'm just using the Express Edition at the moment, trying to see if this will do what I want, so it appears I can't setup a remote server for secondary DNS?

ok, looks like I found the problem. WHMCS was requesting an email account setup however I had no email service configured in DNP.

I have run into this same issue right now, and it is like cat and mouse game Sad

WHMCS creates an account in DNP successfully and DNP deletes it almost instantaniously.

In my case I am not trying to recreate existing resources on DNP nor I am trying to create non existent resources in DNP, Absolutely no errors are shown in DNP Audit Log. But the created account is deleted.

In the Windows Event Viewer I see error as below.

    General tab:

[8/1/2008 2:00:04 PM] ERROR: Trying to create folder C:\HostingSpaces\userspace
System.Exception: Exception of type 'System.Exception' was thrown.

    Details tab:

    - EventData

[8/1/2008 2:00:04 PM] ERROR: Trying to create folder C:\HostingSpaces\userspace System.Exception: Exception of type 'System.Exception' was thrown.

    Server Specs:

    OS: 2008 Server Std 32bit

DNS, FTP no 3rd party software used

    Mail server hMailServer 4.4.1 - Build 273

MS SQL Express 2005 with advanced services

Please investigate this issue and help me as things like this are just acting like stoppers. Please don't just ignore this saying we do not support 3rd party product. The 3rd party product is using DNP API and creating accounts without any errors. It is DNP that is deleting the created account.

I am able to manually create the same account with same resources in DNP without any error, DNP is not deleting this manually created account.

    Help is appreciated thanks.

I will sincerely appreciate some input on this problem, possible known reasons why DNP deletes an account that is created by API calls. This is really hindering the activity.

    Thank you,

    Krish.

    Hello Chris,

I have tried both ways that is with reseller account created an account in reseller space.

Also created account with serveradmin account in reseller space also in system space.

Same results accounts get created but gets deleted in seconds. As to Audit log no errors shown just Information. In event viewer error as stated in my previous post.

I am just scratching my head Tongue Tied

    Re: DNP and WHMCS

Thanks to Chris this problem is resolved.

The cause for this Weird DNP behavior is found to be DNP Account Summary and Hosting Space Summary mails being enabled when creating an account via API call. This is somehow causing DNP to delete the created account.

This issue is not limited to one customer or one server.  I now know that atleast 5 different servers have seen this BUG. This is something that needs to be fixed and given attention to.

So in the end the solution is don't ask DNP to send mails when you are creating an account via API(whmcs DNP module in this case)

I am again greatful to Chris for his help, I am now out to watch a movie and enjoy rest of my weekend Big Smile
