Maybe you can make it available via FTP and inform support (support@dotnetpanel.com), they will be happy to upload it for you.

Unfortunately there is a problem with Magento on windows servers - the image upload doesnt work for products. Great product although only works on apache and linux servers.

Would you mind sharing this package with us so we can have a try with it?

    Re: Magento Application Pack

Actually I have quite a few Magento sites running just fine on Windows. Yes it does require apache, php, mysql and a bit of knowledge of eaccellerator and zend to get a nice site running but they run fine.... so far. I'm more then interested in this application pack.

I've been working on getting wordpress to play nice with Magento along with prototype, scriptolicious and lightbox. Getting a Magento site configured for apache 2 under DNP would be nice.

    Re: Magento Application Pack

Sorry guys - I figured out a while back that PHP on windows means problems. I installed a Centos 5.2 machine to run all PHP in including Magento. Windows is just not designed to run packages that we're designed and built to run on LAMP.  Yes you can compromise but now I just put PHP on Linux and .NET on Windows. Less headaches all round :)

I have Magento installed on IIS7 with Rewrite mod + PHP 5.2.10 (Fast CGI) and MySql 5 working with out problems. I will create a Application pack for this later this week.

    Re: Magento Application Pack

    Hi,

You can get the latest Magento 1.3.2.4 package here.

To use the package add the following to the "applications" node in the "eCommerce" category in Applications.xml:

    <application name="magento_1-3-2-4" />

Please note that PHP 5 and MySQL 5 required. Also check your server meets Magento's official System Requirements.

    Successfully tested on w2k3 se sp2 x32, PHP v5.2.8 & 5.2.12 (FastCGI), MySQL v5.1.31.

However this package involves going throug the installation steps. The problem is creating of database structure using db dump. I could not automate this process and the suggestion does not work.

If you find the way of getting db dump to work, please let me know! I'll automate the installation process as I've created the "settingsControl" page already.

It's included in the package: magento_1-3-2-4.ascx.bak

    Any troubles? Let me know.
    Regards,
    Jegor.

Do you need Apace or does it work on IIS6/7?

You need PHP5 fast-cgi or the normal PHP5 install you do with package from PHP source?

Also creating db dump and "going though the installation steps" means it is not working after initial DNP installation?

    Much appreciated work!

    Hi,

    staalorm:

You do NOT need Apache. It should work fine on IIS6/7 (tested successfully on IIS6 only).

    staalorm:

It should work fine on both PHP5 via FastCGI and via "normal" CGI. There is no difference in php-cgi.exe executable in both cases. (tested successfully using FastCGI only). The only thing here is PHP (and FastCGI if aplicable) execution timeout. Magento docs suggest to increase it to 18000, but that's too much. If you receive blank pages, then you should increase timeout/timeouts.

    staalorm:
means it is not working after initial DNP installation?

No, it's not fully automated installation. After DNP installation you have to browse to the web site to finilize installation.

    Hope this helps! Smile

     Hi Jegor!

Thanks for explanation, though it seems like the application installer option is gone in the latest DNP release? All your work for nothing?

    Most kindly

    Re: Magento Application Pack

DNP does not maintain packages as their target is to replace Applications Installer with Web App Gallery. IMHO there are not enough packages in the Gallery and it seems to me it is still raw and buggy. I just don't wanna move to Web App Gallery at the moment, so I'll stay with Applications Installer for now.

That's why I maintain the packages I need and share with others.

    So... those are the answers...

    Regards,
    Jegor.
