Wrong IP address assigned to site in IIS

    Hey everyone,

I'm attempting to help a customer using DotNetPanel.

Background: The server has two network interfaces. The primary is a local 10.* interface. The second is a public interface.

When they add a Web Site to DotNetPanel, it is creating the site on the 10.* interface and I can't find anywhere in DotNetPanel to not make that happen. Any suggestions?

    Hi.

Check Web Sites Shared IP Address on "web" service properties page. DotNetPanel>Configuration>Server>Web>Web Sites Shared IP Address

    Hi Kris,

    Welcome to DNP community!

Make sure that External IP portion of the address that is used for "Shared IP" web service contains public IP and Internal IP portion contains 10.* address.

Also, "www", "" and "*" "A" records in DNS template of web service should not contain data.

After that web site should be re-created.

     Feodor,

    Thanks for the welcome.

The Shared IP is set to the external address. Additionally the www, * and A records are correctly set with the data. I've checked the domain's DNS as they resolve on our nameservers and they look correct. It's purely that the site in IIS is only configured with thisdomain.com and www.thisdomain.com with the 10.* addresses.

Well, Internal IP part  of the address is used to build web site binding (host header) and the external part is used in DNS zone.

Sorry, I've missed the idea of this question. If customer doesn't use NAT-based network a) both External and Internal parts of IP address should contain the same value (external IP) or b) Internal part should not be specified (left blank).

    Feodor,

I'm not seeing anywhere in the DotNetPanel configuration to specify an Internal or External IP address. There's one (Shared) IP Address field and its set to the public IP, however the host headers are only being created for the private IP, not specified ANYWHERE within DNP.

The Private IP is bound to the primary interface, so it could automatically be using those IPs for that reason.

     Thank you DirectHostingUK.

I have verified that the External and Internal have been set correct. If these were set incorrectly at the time the site was created, is there a way to modify the site to the correct information within DNP?

Afraid not your have to delete the site and create it again

Looks like a new site doesn't work either. Let me further explain what's happening so that there's no confusion. Here's what I'm doing:

    1) Open IIS
    2) Right click on the site/domain and click Properties
    3) Notice that on the Web Site tab, the IP address is the 10.* (internal) IP.
    4) Click "Advanced"
    5) There are only two entries in the "Multiple identities for this web site" box:

    - 10.*  80  domain.com
    - 10.*  80  www.domain.com

    Whats the issue with that?

If NAT is not used create a new IP just with External IP part only (leave Internal IP part blank) and then assign this IP for Shared IP Address on web service properties. Re-create web site after that. You can e-mail me control panel login and I'll take a look what's wrong.

Think I understand now you want the 10.* to be your Public IP not Private?

    You're correct.

For the heck of it, I attempted to remove the Web service and readd it, just to make sure that it adds correct. After leaving the Service name: as "Web" and choosing IIS 6.0 I get the following:
