Suggestions for performing 12 server migration Win2k3 to 2k8?

Anyone have any suggestions on how to perform a migration from Windows 2003 to 2008 on 12 servers that are managed by DotNetPanel.

I'd like for the migration to be seamless and progressive (one server at a time). My main concern is the central server which has the DNP Enterprise Server/Portal, mail, DNS, and SQL services. All the other boxes are basically OS, Web, and FTP.

Can I easily export the server settings and then reimport them on the new box, with the changed OS provider? Should I just creating a new hosting space, copy over the website config from IIS, and re-import them into DNP from IIS?

Has anyone attempted this before? Have any success stories or suggestions?

Don't even bother yet to migrate. I lost lots of functionalities after I did the migration to Windows 2008. The first thing you'll lose is you can't have both PHP4 and PHP5 options. IIS import utility is totally not working. The IIS feature delegation is not handled properly and requires you to give the user the options to override the IIS features through the web.config file. Which means, is the user adds a script handler mapping for PHP, then that customer can use PHP even if you disabled it in the control panel.

I'd like other people's comments on this. Some of the replies comments just don't seem correct. Others?

We have VM ESX server, I’m going to provision a 2k3 and a 2k8 server and try some migration paths. I will post back when I have something promising.
