Hosting plans for multiple servers confusion

We are experimenting with DNP before we make the jump from Helm.

From what i have seen so far it is a much better panel.

I am confused with the hosting plans though.  I have looked but maybe I missed something.

We currently have 3 servers - 1 web, 1 mail and 1 SQL.  Each has DNP on it.

We offer a basic hosting package of a domain/website, dns, email and sql database.

I dont see where or how I can set up this package.  It will only let me set up a hosting plan for a target server and so when i choose the web server then the sql server doesnt show up nor the mail server.

Am I missing something or will the customer have to buy 3 plans to get the one we currently offer?

The documentation is unfortunately slacking behind the pretty fast development... I was in the same situation as you just a couple of months ago when I bought DNP and we have the same server setup as you have.

    Answer is:

    1. Configure each servers services in configuration->servers (logged in as serveradmin)
    2. Configure Virtual Server(s) to be a collection of all or some of the services in previous point (also as serveradmin).

Optional, but as we've done from this point above is:
    3. Create an unlimited hosting plan with all services available from the virtual server, aimed for internal reseller account only.
    4. Create a reseller account for our own use, and assign the unlimited hosting plan to this account
    5. Logged in as the internal reseller and created hosting plan(s) with different limits to be sold to customers

That is; The trick is in the second point. A "virtual server" is an unfortunate expression that is somewhat misleading in DNP since it's not the same kind of virtualization that we use in VMware or Microsoft Virtual Server.

    Perfect Thank You!

I agree that the Virtual Server name is misleading.  We run Win2k8 with Hyper-V and so everything is a virtual server.

Maybe DNP could update their documentation to explain what a Virtual DNP Server is.

    Thanks again for the help.

They did explain it here http://help.dotnetpanel.com/Administrator%20Guide/Setting%20up%20Virtual%20Servers.aspx

but I just think they should have called it Resources.

Spaces are a little confusing too and could be just Packages.
