I was wondering if someone on this thread can answer the Express 5 cal question? Does this mean 5 email accounts total? 5 control panel logins total?

It does not explain this clearly anwhere. I saw the post from someone else asking and the support staff just sent them a link of the wiki for CAL.  Useless info.

     Please let me know. thanks!

I have 11 domains and about 1 - 5 users per domain.  I was looking at dotnetpanl express.

The DotNetPanel express version is limited to 5 DNP Users, there is no limit to anything else.

can you answer the question I asked?  Your answer is exactly the same as what is already on the previous posts and answers nothing.

     5 control panle users?
    5 emails per domain?
    5 total emails?

As I said you can create up to 5 DNP Users which is the same as 5 Control Panel Users. As i also said there is no limit on anything else.

    Re: hMailServer 5.0 Stable Released

I have just built a new server with DotNetPanel webspark edition.

I have everything installed and working exept email.  What version of hmailserver do I need?

    I have DNP 2.8.12
    Windows Server 2008 (32bit)
    IIS7
    MS DNS

I have everything running on one server.  Do I use DNP's built in hmail v5 support or use the SimplerSoftware latest version and what version of hmail does it align with?

The issues site does not show any info on what versions to use.

    Thanks!

    Re: hMailServer 5.0 Stable Released

Feel free to use the newest version of hMailServer (5.x)
In the latest update of DNP (12) support for this version have been added..

Though, I don't know how exactly they did it, but they forgot to include the provider dll file for hmail 5.x
It can be downloaded here: https://www.dotnetpanel.com/downloads/?ID=80
Take a look in the readme file, and it will tell you which folder to put the dll file in, and everything will work just fine :)

    Re: hMailServer 5.0 Stable Released

as far as i know, there is no official support for hmailserver version 5 and up. dotnetpanel only supplied a module for the 4.xx versions.

the stupid thing about that is, that i decided to use dotnetpanel mainly because they supported hmailserver! now, im stuck on hmailserver version 4 because these guys seem to push their (own) smartermail rather than the nice hmailserver and stopped develop support for our beloved, nice, cool hmail in newer versions.

luckily, the community made it possible and developed a module that can handle hmailserver 5.x

just have a look in this thread a few pages above and you will find the appropriate links.

lets hope dotnetpanel reads this and puts hmailserver 5.x-support on the top of their to-do-list.

    Re: hMailServer 5.0 Stable Released

I have already read the entire post and downloaded the software but his site does not say anything about DNP 2.8.12 and does not say what version of hmailserver it supports. Thats why I asked.

I have no need for the spamassasin or virus capabilities in 5.  I have my firewall handle all the spam and quarantines.  Do you think I should stick with 4.4 or go to 5.2 and use it's spam capabilites and turn off the firewall one?

Right now the firewall is Untangle 7.11 using the SPAM module.  They only have the ability to whitelist and view their quarantine.  I havent even read through what hmail5 can do, so I'm not sure what features the end user has in comparison.

I'm impressed with the installation so far with DNP 2.8.12.  The guide was spot on so far.

Now you have a DNP's built-in hMailServer v5 provider. However, there is no detailed info on which versions are supported.

Another thing is that no new functionality was added, just the same pages from v4 provider. Even autoresponder expiry date wasn't added, no validation performed on input fields.

So I'm staying with Simpler Software provider for now.

    Jegor.

    Re: hMailServer 5.0 Stable Released

Hey guys, I have not forgotten about you, I have just been having trouble finding one last piece of software that I used to create the installer. My hard drive crashed recently and I lost a couple applications that I had installed, of course my source code is always backed up to a remote SVN server, so no worries there. I have just not been able to recreate the installer since I rebuilt my system, and I really don't want to have to buy the software over again, I don't have much play money to through towards it.

And BTW, my DNP hMail Provider works with all of v5, every edition. If there comes a point that it needs more, there will be that v5.x of the provider to choose from.

    Re: hMailServer 5.0 Stable Released

I have hmailserver 5.3.2 installed and configured using SQL Express 2008 as the DB. I have your DN Provider installed. I copied the contents to the DotNetPanel folder.  I restarted IIS.

When I login to serveradmin and click on server I do not see hmail as a service.  How do I add it as a service?

When I browse the DotNetPanel database, I can see hmailserver added a providerID 6000.  when I browse the services table I only see the dns, os, web & ftp.  No mail.  when I click on virtual servers I can see the existing services with a check mark to remove them but MAIL is an empty field with nothing to select.  how do I add the Mail service???
