    Add Server Error

I am considering switching from Helm to DNP, I have just finished the installation of DNP.

I've installed DotNetPanel 1.5.3 without any issues and no errors.  I have a full installation on the same server. I am attempting to add a server.  After specifying the Server Name, Server URL:, and Server Password, I am presented with the error message: "Remote server can not be reached".  I get this message whether I use the ip address, localhost, or the exact server url I set when setting up the DNP.

Also I can verify externally or internally that http://<ipaddress>/Server responds properly. It gives me the DotNetPanel Server v1.5.3 is running message.

     Any ideas?

    Hi jwill,

Could you please send RDC credentials, your server IP address and "host", "serveradmin" passwords at: support@dotnetpanel.com in order to investigate what's wrong with your environment.

    Best regards,

Also, it may be a problem with a license (either 30-days evaluation has expired or wrong license serial number is specified in web.config).

    Re: Add Server Error

Thank you.  The problem was a license issue.

    Re: Add Server Error

I have exaclty same problem, only one difference I have install dotnetpanel at home added one server which worked OK, them I moved server to colo. I login as serveradmin  tryed to change server settings like add different services and I got same error "Remote server can not be reached". Then I deside to try to add another server (blank one) same story. So may be I setup different password, I run from BIN directory DNP.Server.Config.exe - reset password, tryed to register server same story. I am using local IP to register server, when I browse IIS it tells me DotNetPanel Server v1.5.3 is running http://192.168.20.33/Server. I am not sure I it is something to do with License. I also tryed to open all ports on firewall (MS ISA Server 2004) same story. I know it is not password (I reset it 2 times LOL) Not firewall since it is internal request and I have rule to allow ALL from to Internal Network to Internal and I can see firewall ALLOWING my request to go through.

    Please help. LOL

Seems I have the same issue. I am sure it is license related as I have just reinstalled the demo long after I did the first time. I would like to spend some time looking at it some more. I did not get a chance to use it when I installed the first time.

I am not sure what information you need to extend my 30 day eval or if there is even a way.

    Re: Add Server Error

    Hi John,

When the trial period needs to be extended we recommend purchasing monthly license ($25/month only). Then any time you'll be able to switch to life-time license.
