There was an error while loading module

I have installed dotnetpanel 1.5.3 in windows 2003 enterprise edition

    I did setup as follows

Portal http://192.168.1.101:81/portal  -  shows login page and I can able to login as host/dnnhost and admin/dnnadmin only and not as serveradmin.

After I login as host or admin I am getting the error "There was an error while loading module" for all modules.

Server http://192.168.1.102:82/server - DotNetPanel Server v1.5.3 is running When you need to specify the URL of this remote Server you can use the following one: http://192.168.1.102:82/Server

EnterpriseServer http://192.168.1.103:83/EnterpriseServer - DotNetPanel Enterprise Server v1.5.3 is running When you need to specify the URL of your Enterprise Server you can use the following one: http://192.168.1.103:83/EnterpriseServer

Can anyone help to solve this issue for me.

     Thanks

    Regards

In order to get whole system running properly you need to set up Enterprise Server URL using "host" account. Login as "host", go to the Configuration Tab -> Enterprise Server, paste EnterpriseServer URL you've mentioned and then click Save button. Go to the Home page and you should see yellow warning message "The module is disconnected from the Enterprise Server" - here means that you've establish connection with ES successfully. Now you are able to login as serveradmin.

Re: There was an error while loading module

So just to get the facts straight:

    - If you go to http://192.168.1.101:81/portal you are able to login with both host and admin? But if you try to login with serveradmin, this doesn't work?

    - If you enter http://192.168.1.103:83/EnterprisesServer  in a browser on your server you get the message that the Enterprise Server is running?

    - host and admin are both DotNetNuke accounts and serveradmin is a DotNetPanel account. To be able to login with serveradmin you should have set up a proper connection to the EnterpriseServer module. To do this you login with host and on the top menu select Configuration > Enterprise Server. Next to Enterprise Server URL you need to enter http://192.168.1.103:83/EnterprisesServer. Update changes and logout, and now you should be able to login with username serveradmin and password serveradmin.

Yes, I can able to login with the both the users host and admin.

    - If you enter http://192.168.1.103:83/EnterpriseServer  in a browser on your server you get the message that the Enterprise Server is running?

Yes with the above url enterprises server is working fine. (DotNetPanel Enterprise Server v1.5.3 is running When you need to specify the URL of your Enterprise Server you can use the following one: http://192.168.1.103:83/EnterpriseServer )

    - host and admin are both DotNetNuke accounts and serveradmin is a DotNetPanel account. To be able to login with serveradmin you should have set up a proper connection to the EnterpriseServer module.

    Yea this point I understood

To do this you login with host and on the top menu select Configuration > Enterprise Server. Next to Enterprise Server URL you need to enter http://192.168.1.103:83/EnterpriseServer. Update changes and logout, and now you should be able to login with username serveradmin and password serveradmin.

Yes I gave the same url exactly http://192.168.1.103:83/EnterpriseServer in Configuration > Enterprise Server

    Visible By Administrators Only

    Enterprise Server URL:  http://192.168.1.103:83/EnterpriseServer

Authentication Mode: (Selected) Map DotNetNuke accounts to appropriate DotNetPanel ones

    DotNetPanel Role     DotNetNuke Role

    Administrator            DNP Administrators

    Reseller                   DNP Resellers

    User                        DNP Users

Still I am having the same problem, "There was an error while loading module" and I unable to login as serveradmin.

Then I don't know what the problem could be, just wait for one of the DNP guys to reply.

PS: Any reason why you choose different ports for Portal, Server and EnterpriseServer? Maybe uninstall DNP and try the installation again, leaving the default settings.

This "error" is normal, host and admin are DotNetNuke users and not DotNetPanel users, they don't have rights on the DotNetPanel modules, this is why you see this error. You need to login with host and set the URL for Enterprise Server (Configuration > Enterprise Server) and afterwards you can login with serveradmin in DotNetPanel.

Re: There was an error while loading module

I think this is a bit confusing to everyone. We may need to rethink how the host/admin accounts access DNP modules as default in portal site. What cha think?

I agree, given that the URL for Enterprise Server is configured during the install, it shouldn't be that hard to directly pipe it in the correct config file. Then it's running immediately after installation. Maybe also (if possible) force to set passwords for host and admin, so this is not "forgotten" after installation.

But if I am not mistaken, DNN will be replaced by DNP Web Portal in one of the next versions, so maybe then it would be a good time to adapt the installer to take care of this.

Yes, we are going to improve DNP installer to place ES URL automatically during the install.

Re: There was an error while loading module

Yes, I have installed DNP successfully.

I re installed my os (windows 2003 ES) and downloaded .net frame work form the link provide in dontpanel website (previously I installed with oen which i had with me downloaded some 6 months back, and I hope this might the problem) and I installed DNP. Every thing went well and I changed Enterprise server url, then I got yellow alert in home page. Then i logged out as host and logged in as serveradmin/serveradmin and found DNP works fine.

Thank you all for giving me the wounderful support
