Moving some websites to another user (reseller)

    Hi,

I want to move some websites from serveradmin to reseller 0 in an easy way ...

Reseller ID is 168 in the DB ..

I made a change in the DB under dotnelpanelenterprise server -> dbo.users and changed the Owner ID to 168 ...

The site is succesfully moved to the reseller 0 = Perfect!

But I think I'm still missing some things to make it work perfectly.

The bandwidth calculation is not OK ... is not xferred to the Reseller ID ... I cannot find the correct value to change that?

Maybe I missing some other parameters to have a perfect xfer?

    Thx for the big help.

    Regards,

    JAAN

I would recommend detaching the resources you want to move and then use "import resources" in the reseller 0 hosting plan instead of doing it in the database.

Re: Moving some websites to another user (reseller)

    Dear,

Can you please explain in an easy way how todo this?

    My construction ...

I make always first a user in form domain_com then I add a website domain.com under that user. (Made under serveradmin)

So how to move then the user with the webstie under reseller 0?

    Thx for the help.

    Regards,

    Jaan

    Jaan,

Login to the control panel and go to the hosting space where the resources are currently located and click the "detach" button next to all the resources you want to move (for example the web site).
Then go to the hosting space where you want the resources moved to and click on "import resources" at the bottom right of the hosting space home page.
Check the resources you want to import and click import.

    Detach KB: http://help.dotnetpanel.com/Administrator%20Guide/Detaching%20Space%20Items.aspx
    Importing KB: http://help.dotnetpanel.com/Administrator%20Guide/Importing%20Hosting%20Resources%20into%20Spaces.aspx

    Hope that helps.

    Thx Mr.!

If understand well, you cannot detach a USER but only the things within a USER?

     Am I correct?

So I need to make another user under the reseller 0 and do an import resources of the things that are detached?

Is this the way to think?

    Regards,

     Jaan

    Ok.

1 last question ... detaching means also the website gets offline for a while until you import it again?

    Jaan,

Detaching does not bring the site offline, it just clears the site entry from the DNP database (the site still exists in IIS and no changes are made to the IIS site).
The only time you might see downtime is when you re-import and the panel copies the files to the new location, although I can't say for sure as when we have done it in the past it was so quick that we did not notice downtime...
The only item of concern might be if you have custom permissions, I am not sure if DNP will set those back up when it re-imports the site, DNP support: any comments on this?

If the sites are critical you should test on a test site first and backup your IIS metabase as well as the web files.

Hope it works out for you!
