Hi Guys,
We have upgraded to the latest 2.8.5 and have tested an issue that has been around for quite some time.
When a user account or hosting space within the account is deleted it does not delete all of the relevant items within the space.
I.E. it does not delete the database(s) (MS SQL or MySQL), Mail Accounts, Mail Domain, Website, FTP Account, Website Statistics or the secondard Domains on the non primary domain server.
I hope this makes sense, but it is causing major problems as clients delete things that they do not want or have created in error.
e.g if you were to do the following:-
-
Create a user account called test-account.
-
Create a hosting space with the space resources and the domain name of test-account-domain.com, tick the Create Website, Create FTP Account, Create Catch-All Account tick boxes.
-
Then create a Website Stats account
-
Create some additional email accounts
-
Create a database and database user
-
Install a website from the applications installer
-
Test to make sure this has all been created properly.
-
Delete the User Account and see what it leaves behind
I have just tested this and it throws an asp.net error, but it has deleted the website, FTP Account, SQL Database, SQL User, Mail Accounts, Mail Domain, Website Stats and Domain Names, but it has left part of the directory structure from the HostingSpaces directory.
I had to stop IIS to be able to manually delete the directory from the HostingSpaces directory.
Has anyone else come accross this error before?
When we were using v2.8.4 it would leave the FTP Account, Mail Accounts, SQL Database, SQL User and Website Stats behind when you tried to delete a user account or hosting space.
Any info would be greatly appreciated on this one as some of my customers delete spaces and then re-create them as they have made a mistake in the spelling or something and it is causing big issues when we come to create a new space as parts of teh old one are still there in the background.
