    DNP 2.8.10 and SmarterMail 6.1

    Hi there,

Not sure if anyone experience this, but after we upgraded the DNP from 2.8.9 to 2.8.10, the "Mail -> Domains" suddenly refused to work. Other functions such as adding/deleting of email accounts or mailing lists continue to work as expected, just that we lost the ability to set "catch-all".

I tried to email support but was told that I have my service URL wrong (i.e. "127.0.0.1:9998"), however this is not the case - we had the service URL configured at port 80 of an public accessible IP and a simple test shown that the SM web service from is working perfectly fine.

     DNP2810SM61

If I bind the SM web service to the required 127.0.0.1:9998 (not sure where DNP got this - perhaps hardcoded?), I got a similar error - but the error message changed to "500 Service Unavailable". The service is actually UP and RUNNING.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks & Regards,
    Hammer.

From what i understand SmarterMail is running on port 80 yes? If that is the case then yes the url is wrong so you should login to DNP then go to Configuration > Servers then click on the SmarterMail service then ensure that the SmarterMail Web Services URL is correct.

Yes that's correct, the SmarterMail web service is running on port 80 of a public IP (not 127.0.0.1). I double checked the settings at the Configuration/Servers section and yes the URL is correctly configured.

This makes me wonder where DNP got the idea of 127.0.0.1:9998.

    1) Are you using the SmarterMail v5 Provider or the SmarterMail v6 Provider?

    2) Also in the Service Settings you assigned the public ip?

    3) and your SmarterMail web services url is in the format of http://mail.domain.com/services/ correct?

    Hi there,

    1) SmarterMail v6 Provider
    2) Yes that's correct.
    3) We use the format http://123.456.789.012/services/.

Well, there's no problem in creating/deleting email accounts/mailing lists through DNP, hence I guess there's something else that triggered the exception.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Hammer.

Interesting. With 2.8.11, this reported problem survived the upgrade and live happily ever after.

    Hi,

We've the same problem with SmarterMail Enterprise Edition 6.6, with DNP 2.8.10 and 2.8.11.

    Also this is correct;

    1) SmarterMail v6 Provider
    2) Yes that's correct.
    3) We use the format http://123.456.789.012/services/.

and there's no problem in creating/deleting email accounts/mailing lists through DNP.

    Best regards,

    Kevin

And me also :-) Everything triple checked. Cannot find any reference to 127.0.0.1:9998 .... Anyone have a solution yet? Henri

The last I heard from support team was on early Dec/09, which I was told that it's a bug and they would be fixing. Maybe I should setup a simple page asking for donation - and once we have 50 bucks we'd have them fixed by purchasing a standard support ticket.

Do take note that this problem exists in any of these combinations: 2.8.10 / 2.8.11 with SM 6.1 / 6.5 / 6.6.
