Perl, Python and Mysql Install instructions please

I have downloaded Active perl and when I started to install the executable I downloaded I see environment variables, virtual directory options etc, I just cancelled the setup Smile, after getting a confused feeling with Perl, I never tried to attempt an install of python. Same with Mysql. I am aware of tutorials and howto's available elsewhere on the internet, but I request a get-set-go instructions for perl, python and Mysql install for them to work with DNP without a hitch. Server to be installed on is Windows2003.

I sincerely appreciate help extended, thank you. I have searched the forums for information an d didn't found any start.

Hi, Installing Perl and Python is very easy. You just need to download the msi and install it on server. If you have choosed the default path i.e C:\Perl and C:\Python24 then use the following paths as their Web Extention ( in IIS ) and Script Mapping ( in DNP - IIS Service setup page )

    For Perl : C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe "%s" %s

    For Python : C:\Python24\python.exe -u "%s" "%s"

    Thanks

Thank you Feodor for letting know to look for these instructions in help system soon.

Rubal, I understand I should copy what you have typed  in Web Extension required files window and also copy to the DNP web service setup page.

As far as running an msi is concerned it is cool, provided that there are no options to play with, I assume you are saying that we can do a typical setup with whatever options are checked or unchecked by default, just leave them as is and hit next button untill we see fininish Smile is this right?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Feodor,

Some comment on the help portal. If you go to third-party products and click any of the links you are required to login, so I registered but even after logging in I am still presented with login box when clicking on the third-party manuals.

I see now. Smile Those pages just don't exist and the system redirects on "Page Creation Wizard" screen that requires "Contributor" rights.

Btw, guys, if somebody wants to help us with the content there you're welcome! Wink
