    Choosing Application Availability

    Hello,

I'm wondering how I can control what application packs are available for users? Also, is it possible to have one set of application packs availble for hosting package one and a different set for hosting package two?

At the moment you can't assign App Pack to hosting plans, DNP have it on there list of things to change

Could you please clarify what is your intention here? Why would you like to limit apps users can install?

    Re: Choosing Application Availability

    Well I would like to:

    1) View what application packs are installed

    2) Select which applications are available to users

    3) Delete application packs which I do not wish to offer

The main reason I would like to limit what apps I offer is the support factor. As I would like to not offer applications which I'm unable to support.

    Oh... I see.

Sounds reasonable and it seems our App Installer module should suffer some improvements though. Thank you for request - I'll add this in our TO-DO list for the future.

As for now I can suggest you to modify Applications.xml within ES module and remove unnecessary apps mentions from it... I know it sounds a little bit tricky but it solves your issue for a while.

I would just like to give this issue a little bump.  I have the same needs as the original poster with an additional concern about server overhead.  I love dotnetnuke, don't get me wrong, but at times it can be a bit of a beast.

Just remove the unwanted applications from C:\dotnetpanel\Enterprise Server\WebApplications\Applications.xml
