    Leased License

Can you please explain what the lease entails exactly.

Here is my setup, I have a single server running VMWare Server. I have three "VM"s running,

1.) Windows 2003 x64 running Active Directory and Exchange
2.) Windows 2003 x32 running IIS Web and SQL 2005.
3.) Windows 2003 x32 running IIS Web and SQL 2005.

Both servers 2 and 3 are using IIS FTP using Active Directory Isolation so I'm not sure if DOTNETPANEL can handle the FTP aspect due to the fact that you set the ftp directory through the user profiles on Active Directory.

Is  a lease per virtual machine or just a single lease across all of the virtual machines hosted on the primary server ? My meaning being, seeing that I need 1 Ent and 3 Server licenses, is that 3 leases or does the single lease cover all of these servers?

From your November 2006 pricing update here is what it says about DNP Monthly Lease:

"One license includes one Enterprise Server Unlimited Web Sites and Server Unlimited Servers (on the same machine). Each next remote Server requires an additional monthly license."

To me this says with one single DNP Lease I can cover "unlimited servers" on the same machine as long as there are no "remote machines". Please clarify.

As I understand it, if I put a second physical server online and hosted more VMs on that physical machine I would need to add on another Lease to cover that physical machine, correct?

    Re: Leased License

    Hi,

"One license includes one Enterprise Server Unlimited Web Sites and Server Unlimited Services (on the same machine). Each next remote Server requires an additional monthly license."

Each Enterprise Server license includes one DNP Server license with unlimited services on the same machine.

Usually your hosting business requires only one DNP Enterprise Server license.

DNP Server license should be installed on each remote machine in order to control it from DNP. Some service examples are: "WEB" service, "MAIL" service, "MS SQL" service.

My quoute came directly from your November 2006 update to the hosting agreement (the ONLY one I could find in the forum BTW) and it does say "Servers" and not "Services".

    See http://forum.dotnetpanel.com/forums/p/702/3842.aspx#3842

    DotNetPanel Leased Licenses (Monthly)
    DNP Monthly License $40/month
    1. One license includes one Enterprise Server Unlimited Web Sites and Server Unlimited Servers (on the same machine). Each next remote Server requires an additional monthly license.
    2. Includes Enterprise Server Modules Pack.
    3. Includes FREE upgrades.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but that "simple" typo is a huge problem. Your post it is for unlimted servers on the same machine yet you quote me "Services".  My servers are all hosted on the same machine using VMWare Server. These VMs are NOT Remote machines since they are infact hosted all on the same server itself.

Based on your new term "Services" leased license I would need three licenses, totaling $120 per month? Thats a high amount just for a leased license.

I guess there is no intrest in sending a reply to me question? Very disapointing

Thank you for your observation. We didn't notice until now. I corrected that typo.

In the future please send your sales inquiries to sales@dotnetpanel.com . Email has a higher priority.

The price for a DNP leased license is 40$/month. If you compare this price with another’s control panel leased license price you will find out that it is cheaper.

You need a DNP Monthly license for each server. It doesn’t matter that it is a physical server or a virtual server.

    Re: Leased License

If this is the case please correct your documentation regarding a leased license to reflect "Services" and not "Servers".

What you've done is bait and switch, the post clearly states it is for "Unlimited Servers" and you then tell me "no, Unlimited Services".

Is there any way to get an evaluation license to allow a remote machine to connect to the trial server? Without fully testing the software across all servers it wont be possible to determine if DNP will fully work. We are only intrested in something like a 7 day trial license or similar to ensure that we don't pump money into something that won't work.

If there is no trial what sort of money-back garuntee do you offer if I buy the licenses and can't use it as we had intended?

    Re: Leased License

I'm sorry for that typo and misunderstanding. There are no unlimited servers on a server.

Send me an email regarding a temporary license and your dotnetpanel.com username and i will kindly provide it to you.
