No DNS role for Windows 2008 Web. Do You think that is OK?

    Hello!

I just found out that Windows Server 2008 Web will have no DNS role. What do You think about this? Is this OK?

    Roles table:

I think that is fine. Only IIS will be there on the Web Edition. They have taken this move so that we can just host websites/iis on the web edition. If we want DNS servers then it should be on standard. Or one can adopt for third party solution like SimpleDNS, Bind etc.

It's a good decision to not include a DNS service into Sevrer 2008 Web Edition. Why should a web server handle dns requests?

    Cheers,

and even if someone want DNS on Web Edition then one can use third party DNS Servers like SimpleDNS or Bind for Windows.
