    Billing Questions

    1.       If a customer's credit card fails authorization, does it email the customer and tell him so?

    2.       If the customer then updates their cc information, does it try and process any unpaid invoices?

    3.       Are unpaid invoices that have failed authorization try and re-process during the next billing cycle?

    Re: Billing Questions

Did you find any answers to these questions? I can't find any information and I could clearly use the time to test it out myself on other things...

    Thank you!

    Re: Billing Questions

I did not. I have basically given up on the DotNetPanels built in billling system. I could not even get it to generate the recurring invoices. No one at DotNetPanel support even replied back. I dont know folks are actually using DotNetPanel for billing. (since it doesnt work)

So, I am in the process of building a VB.NET application that will do the following.

    1. Generate recurring invoices

    2. Attempt to authorize the credit card using Authorize.net

    3. Send notifications to the customer

    4. And a few other things.

    Re: Billing Questions

Getting support from DNP through forums seems unfortunately pretty weak... Straightfowards basic questions with no answer, its quite sad.

Concerning the recurring invoices, I think it is a matter of activating the generate invoices scheduled task. Concerning CC failed payment, we are investigating how we can check for payments with 'failed' status and send ourselves an email notification to the customer. Great thing is that DNP's internal architecture is really strong and good for extending through .NET. There is no template in DNP for failed payments, we assume nothing is sent. But we'll have to test this to be sure.

Thank you for your reply and good luck in your development !

Maybe this will be covered by new ecommerce module:

But no one knows (except DNP?) when it will be released since there was no DNP crew activity in this topic from a long time.

The forums are no official support channel, so this statement makes no sense. Send your query to support@dotnetpanel.com and you will get help.
