Re: Error Adding Website / DNP 2.5.0 / Windows Server 2008

Are you able to add domain without DNS in hosting plan/space? I am asking because I was never able to get ICS Bind running on Windows 2008 and when I checked with Feodor he confirmed me that there was some bug and issues supporting ICS Bind.

    Thanks

Check the application and system logs, there should be additional data. This error usually happens on the IIS7 side.

Re: Error Adding Website / DNP 2.5.0 / Windows Server 2008

    1. Are you able to add domain without DNS in hosting plan/space?
I was able to add only a "fake" domain. ie. a domain that doesn't really exist. When I attempt adding a domain that really exists (something actually in the root-servers).. I get that hex msg.. But I don't usually have the luxury to test w/hundreds at a time; I've set aside some customers to test on this particular windows server 2008 machine so I can see what we need to fix before public release... The issue I've noticed has been constant and usually only when I test using a real domain.... It appears that it gets as far as making the domain in DNS (creates the zone file), then I can import the resource; but cannot "add website" for that domain. (the ugly hex '!!' msg)

    2. I am running ISC Bind 9.5.0 (not current- going to upgrade to the latest for security reasons soon) without problems; I have it configured to run a 'reload.bat' every hour; so far it seems working 100%... I can give you more information if you need. Feodore, you still have permission to the box if you need for testing..; Check private msg for details.

If anyone needs more information, my colleagues or I would be happy to ablige...

on the same error, we added another 'fake' domain, and it worked fine, and we had another real domaim and it worked as well, but it seems that certain domains are still not wanting to work, we have one we have been trying to add and it doesn't seem to want to work. we're still getting the same error as posted by jb121
