Hello,

    I have been using for some time gene6 under win 2003 32 bits.

    Now things have changed and we have win 2008 64 bits and also Microsoft has launched FTP7 integrated with IIS7.

I use the tipical FTP features, and since FTP7 is available in 64 bits, do you recomend me to use it instead of gene6, or it's better to keep with gene6 running as a 32 bits application?

I'ld prefer Gene6 over MS FTP 6/7. Reason being that its easy to manage and it doesnt use Windows Users and ACLs at all. Other then this it is also easy to backup Gene6 FTP accounts rather then MS FTP ones.

 Does MS FTP7 support virtual sites or is it a single one like Gene6?

It is like one domain per server and virual users for each FTP account. As you are familiar with Helm its like its classic mode ..

Do you recomend any other FTP software?

Gene6 seems great but any update since 2007. It's seems discontinued.

Gene6 all the way even if its not updated. I am sure they'll come with a new build when its really required and necesarry. Note : Even MS didnt made any change to MS FTP 6.0 until they released FTP 7.0... When your software if fully functional and bug free you really dont need to update it.
