We are running DNP 2.8.5 and find it very slow sometimes.

When you first access it it is very slow to bring up the login page and any subsequent pages. After several minutes it seems to run normally.

When DNP is running this slow, database access is slow for all other applications, so all websites on the server run extremely slowly too.

Is this a known issue and is there any solution?

 I am having the same problem. I amrunning it on my localhost, windows 2008 server 64 bit, and it is verty slow indeed, portal, server and enterprise, all take several minutes to load any page.

HTML or CFM pages work fine and are fast, only DNP is slow.

 

 

I have same problem too and I cant solution this problem more then 3 months

I'm not facing this issue but I'm curious about one thing. How DNP can slow down other applications? Do you run all your apps in one Application Pool?

DNP applications are diffenf from other web sites but all other web sites using same appication pool i guess this is about sql problem but my other web pages dont have any sql connection time problem for example when im trying change search source to spaces from users im waiting more then 30 second for changing this is just litle example

Changing search type from users to spaces took my DNP about 3 seconds

I know this is normally my mine is about 30 seconds so thinking other things how long does it take

What is your resource usage like on the server?
Are you running web sites, mail, sql, panel services and other things on the same server?

 

My server is HP DL 380G5 with xeon 5420 2.50Ghz cpu Im using Windows server 2008 64bit and sql 2008 64 bit iis7, smarter mail and MS Dns i have nearly 300 domain with web site and near 2000 mail accounts my server ram is 4GB and my cpu resources never higher then %20 and my ram usage never higher then 3 GB my bant with nearly 2Mbit

This is because the Application Pool that the Portal runs on, recycles from memory when the Portal is not accessed for a specified amount of time. What you can do is edit the DNP Application Pool so it doesn't recycle so quickly. Then, as soon as it is completely loaded in memory it will be lightning fast :)

Could you a bit enhance your explain pls i cant understand clearly

but it is slow all the time on every page on server, enterprise and portal, not just on the first page load.

FOor test i recycle all applications on IIS and retest again like snakes everything was slow again

I'm curious. Does anyone solved this issue? Actually I started facing this problem lately (somewhere from upgrading to 2.8.7 but I'm not sure). There is problem only with DNP Portal. Other pages works normally. For testing purposes I've changed my DNP Enterprise server from loopback to some local IP so that DNP Portal which is installed on other page can access it. I've installed DNP Portal on testing Windows 2008 R2 server and it worked great. I've installed it later on my database (DNP Remote + SQL Server 2008 only) Window and it worked great too. I even removed DNP Portal from my main Windows where it was installedin the first place and installed again but this hasn't changed anything. Clear DNP Portal was slow like before. Can someone confirm that installing DNP Portal on other server has resolved slow working issue? If yes than maybe we can find out together wat is causing this issue.
