Moving to DotNet from HELM 4.1

After many problems with our servers (Win 2008) we are looking at moving from Helm 4.1.1 to DotNet. I used Helm 3 many moons ago and like the idea of being able to view a Website before the Domain Name was propergated. Does DotNetPanel come with any extra mods so this can be done? and if so is there a list of mods which can be added?

    Thanks

DNP does come with option to setup temp alias which can be used to view website before DNS propogation.

    Dave-W:

I would not recommend using their integrated e-commerce module. That's probably the weakest part of DNP and there haven't been many improvements from developers in past year or so.

To go the easy way, you could just get one of 3rd-party products which support DNP (like WHCMS or whatever).

DNP also has an API you can use if you have your own billing software and/or (and that's its main strength) it should be extensible meaning you could develop your own e-commerce section. Now, I didn't try this yet but this is probably the way we will go.

But be aware that DNP e-commerce / billing section is very weak. Even HELM3 had better features. Nonetheless, DNP is in my opinion the best s/w out there just because its extensibility. Do you own research as we didn't try to extend basic DNP functionalities yet but I think that if you're a developer or if you have a team for that, you could make it.

    Hope this helps.

Thankyou for the replies and sorry it has taken so long to get back to you all. I have another couple of questions regarding DNP.

    1. Can we have resellers if so which edition can I use?
    2. Can we have secure folders (something helm 4.1.1 does not have with iis7)?
    Thanks

     1) Yes resellers are supported with Std Edition.

    2) They have a seperate own developed module for same which can be downloaded from Downloads area.
