    Billing/Invoicing

    Hi,

I am new to Dotnetpanel, and have recently been migrated on to this with my customers accounts already created.

I have created hosted plans and some add-ons, but i can not find anywhere where I can create an Invoice manually, or link a hosting plan/account in order to generate an invoice for my customers.

When i click on Invoices, there are obviously none there, and i would then expect to see an "Add" button or something similar to allow me to create one.

I also had a look in the account, hosting, plan details but still cannot find anything to link to an actual physical invoice.

How do I setup my panel to allow me to create billing and invoices?  The payments will be off-line, so i don't need to set up any gateways or payment processing, i just need to be able to bill someone based on their hosting plan and add-ons.

    Thanks

    Andrew

I'm in the same boat as you. I have configured the paypal email and if I try to do a payment as a client it says credit card payments are disabled.

I dont have PayPal Pro, nor to I want to use it.  I just want to create monthly invoices for my clients and let them pay me via PayPal.  how do we do this?

    Re: Billing/Invoicing

Yeah, this is really frustrating, as the main reason i went on to these hosting plans/panel was so that i could seperate the billing.

In my case, i just have a couple of accounts that are either family or friends, but obviously they want invoices/receipts so that they can record the expenses and payments for their business.

At the moment, i am not really in it to sell on, it was just the best way explained to me, to enable me to create seperate plans and thus allow me to bill people seperately when the charges were renewed each year, rather than me getting 1 bill for renewal addressed to me, and then trying to split it between the 2 :-)

I guess at the moment, i am going to have to do it manually with Word, or other software, it is just a pain as each year, i will need to keep extracting the different plans and add-ons to create an invoice.  Luckily, i only have 2 "customers" so it shouldn't be TOO much of a pain.

It would be nice though if someone from dotnetpanel could actually reply to these posts.  There are loads of posts on here regarding similar issues, and i just don't see any interest from them.  In fact, my hosting company has provided me more help and support on this than dotnetpanel! :-(

Let's hope someone replies to explain how to do this, and if it is a feature that is still not available, some sort of guideline as to when it will become available.

     take a look at

    http://help.dotnetpanel.com/Administrator%20Guide/Home.aspx

that may help a bit it does take a some getting use to etc, and you can not or was not able to setup a paying account as Serveradmin as it creates a non paying. you need to be logged in as a user/register to get that part done,

    Re: Billing/Invoicing

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, i still can't get this to work.  I have set up the details, probably more than i think i need, and set up a scheduled task.  When i run the task to generate invoices, there are still no invoices under "Customer Invoices".  I thought that this may be down to my invoice threshold, so i amended to 90 days and re-run the task, but still no generated invoices.

Also, when i click on Online Store, all i see is a blank page, which just says Storefront Catalog as a heading but nothing else whatsoever :-(

I am still convinced that "something" needs to be done to link the services with the customer, as at the moment, i still cannot work out how to associate the plans/add-ons with a customer!  I must be missing something obvious here.

I am quite clearly doing something drastically wrong.  All the storefront and payment is not required, i just simply want to create an invoice based on the hosting and option that my customer has now :-(

    Thanks

    Re: Billing/Invoicing

The way i make the Plan is

ON the Admin main page (after login), click hosting plans and enter all the details .

that creates the plan (same with Addons)

    THEN

under ecommerce you have hosting plans (addons)

this is where you create the Plan (billing side) and if it exists in the store. etc.

when you create a client (note no billing cycle used to be created if you create the account in admin user mode) you can select the plan you wish to use.

it took me a few days to get use to the process it uses

    Re: Billing/Invoicing

    Hello Andrew,

Well, the issue here is that Ecommerce cannot "wire up" hosting plans created manually or not by using Ecommerce storefront... So in order a customer to be wired up to and get billed with Ecommerce it should first go through the checkout process and has corresponding invoice approved.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
