Unable to change biling plan / monthly fee

When I changed the billing rate for a hosting plan I expected any clients on that plan to then be billed at the new rate. This didn't happen. I had to manually go in and adjust each plan via the database. However, that had a downside in that it backdated and adjusted all previous invoices to the new rate! Clearly, not correct.

Well, from the implementation standpoint resellers are expected to change hosting plan for a customer rather than update existing plan recurring fee...

To overcome this issue - it is better to add a new record manually with new rate applied. Hence Ecommerce rating engine will pick up that rate and you'll also keep rate history safe from an accidental changes in the past.

That's not really the solution though is it. As I then have to manually update every client to attach them to that rate. If I have 5,000 clients, how long will that take??

The proper way to do it would not to attach historical records to the live rate. Rather, in historical record the rate at that time would be stored in the database against the history. Then, if it is changed all clients will pick up the new rate but it won't affect the history.
