    Changing server IP address

    Hello,

I am in the 2.8.6 DNP version. I have to change my server IP address so, to avoid issues to my customer, I wish to install a second server with the exact copy (disk image) of the first and then, one to one, transfer the domains on the new IP. My questions are:

    - How and where I have to change the IP on DNP? It seems the second server reads the SQL data of the first server... so which are the first steps?

    - Could I have some issue with my DNP license because I am using it on two servers?

    Thank you.

It's not an issue with DNP License , you can use old License as well but make sure that you have removed that License from old server before assign to new server. You can change IP address in the control panel database , but it is not as easy as you are thinking. It's ir need to change IP in the metabase and you also need to change DNS records for all domains. It is not recommend to change IP address. You can make clone of current server on another physical environment with different IP address and after that you can replace old server with new one physically. Once the servers replaced you can add all the IP's from old server to new one. This is method to migrate DNP servers.
