    who uses the free DotNetPanel?

I'm just curios, since DotNetPanel went GPL a while ago, who's using it? I see it is now called WebSitePanel If you're using it in production, what's your experience with it so far? But, if you've decided to move away from DotNetPanel, what are you using now?

     Hello,

I use it for www.1worldhost.com. It works perfectly for my needs. You should give it a try. I run it in a virtualized enviroment.

Hi, I have implemented WebsitePanel on multiple servers and it is same like DotnetPanel , they have just changed the control panel name so you can enjoy the WebsitePanel as like DotnetPanel. Those who are not interested in DotnetPanel they can use the Plesk control panel.

Yes, both DotNetPanel & Plesk control panels have different structures and management interface. If you compare both the control panels you will find that they have a few advantages and disadvantages with the current interface.

I agree, the Dotnet panel is more reliable for windows hosting , I would like to mention few technical reason for that .

The Dotnet panel is designed with ASP.NET and it uses Microsoft SQL server to store control panel database.

I hate that moving PLESK wheel which keeps you waiting and waiting and waiting , you can avoid this problem with Dotnet panel server because the presentation layer of Dotnet panel is designed with ASP.NET which is using SOAP [Simple Object Access Protocol ] to perform various operations and for internal communication.==

On the Plesk server we always faced performance issue due to control panel services , but Dotnet panel do not install any type of services, just add control panel website which run with IIS application pool with “weak” identity.

Additionally you can integrate Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, and BlackBerry in Dotnet Panel, and these features are not available with Plesk control panel.

    Cool
